The stipulation for John Cena vs. Rusev at “Extreme Rules” revealed itself during the April 13 “Monday Night Raw” tapings. According to fan reports at the O2 Arena, it was announced that Rusev will be challenging Cena for the United States Championship on April 26 in a “Russian Chain Match.”
While Cena is no stranger to chains, as it was a chain that helped him gain victory over Brock Lesnar at the 2012 edition of “Extreme Rules,” it is uncertain as to what a “Russian Chain Match” will look like at this time. The two competitors may start off chained together via cuff or collar, but this is mere speculation at this point.
Cena defeated Rusev for the US Title on March 29 at WrestleMania 31. Since winning the US strap, Cena has held open challenges to his title on WWE TV, and has been answered by Dean Ambrose and Stardust. During the April 13 edition of “RAW,” Cena is answered by Bad News Barrett, England’s hometown darling.
While Cena gets the best of Barrett, which you can read about here in the spoilers for the April 13 edition of “RAW,” it should be noted that Cena is expected to retain the United States Championship for some time. WWE wants him to hold on to the title in order to build up relevance for the gold, much like they want Daniel Bryan to do the same for the Intercontinental Championship.
Rumors have also stated that WWE may be creating a new US title for Cena, and the Champ himself has even teased the return of his old United States Championship “spinner” belt that he held in 2004-05.

So…a Russian Chain Match…hmmm…
