Sting wants to face the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sting himself has bought into the annual internet rumors surrounding himself and ‘Taker and now wants to face “The Deadman” on the grandest stage of them all.

While WWE merchandise designers have been asked to create new Sting memorabilia using the moniker, “A Man Called Sting,” no official deal has been signed between Sting and the WWE, according to this report. PWInsider reported that Sting and WWE had officially come to terms on a contract, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter continues to claim that Sting has yet to sign on a dotted line.

According to Meltzer, the WWE office is the negotiating party that is keeping the deal from being official. Sting is not considered to be as much of a priority to the company as much as other names like Hulk Hogan, and it is Sting himself that wants to make the deal and work with the Undertaker at WrestleMania.

The report also claims that Undertaker and WWE officials have had the Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker match planned out since 2010, which is why ‘Taker confronted Lesnar during a UFC event. However, Sting lives in the Dallas, Tx. area, which is not too far from the Undertaker’s home. He feels that being so close, they could work out their ‘Mania match in the Undertaker’s private gym, just like ‘Taker has done with his last several WrestleMania opponents.

Constant run-throughs of the match between ‘Taker and his opponents have been the key element to each “Streak Match” being so well received. There is concern backstage that Lesnar may not want to go to ‘Taker’s gym and work through their match countless times. The general feeling is that Lesnar may not want to add more days to his current contract to go to ‘Taker’s home and iron out all the details. This concerns some WWE officials, as Lesnar will be ‘Takers stiffest competition to date if they do in fact face off at WrestleMania XXX, and they believe that if anyone needs to map out an entire match with the Undertaker, it’s him.
