In recent posts on his official Facebook and Twitter pages, Sting remembers the Ultimate Warrior and confirms an upcoming appearance, which conflicts with reports that he will be debuting for WWE sometime in the near future. Sting was at one time tag team partners with Warrior, who tragically passed away on April 8 after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 5, attending WrestleMania XXX on April 6, and addressing the WWE Universe during “Monday Night Raw” on April 7.
Sting and Warrior began their wrestling careers together, competing for the UWF, Mid-Southern, and Mid-South promotions. At one point, they were deemed the Blade Runners, and were being built up to be the next Legion of Doom.
Sting broke a three month silence on Facebook and Twitter to remember Warrior, saying,
“Mourning the loss of Jim Hellwig. I don’t believe anyone has ever published this picture before today. The snapshot was taken two days before Thanksgiving in 1985, as we prepared to leave my house in Newhall, California and embark on a career in wrestling.
Jim always challenged me to strive at being the best, and I’ll forever be grateful for the encouragement and motivation he provided.
I was looking forward to catching up with him, and I’m saddened we didn’t have that opportunity before he passed. My heart goes out to his wife Dana and their two daughters, and they will remain in my prayers.”
Sting also recently shot a promo video for an upcoming appearance for Pro Championship Wrestling in Chicago. The event he is scheduled for is Dream Night 13, and it takes place on June 21 in Oaklawn, Ill. If the rumors that say Sting will be debuting for WWE soon come to fruition, it’s likely that he will either have to cancel this appearance, or he will not debut until after June 21, as WWE officials look down upon contracted talent making appearances with local independent promotions such as Pro Championship Wrestling.
Editor’s Note: I think it’s really cool to see Sting break his silence on Social Media to remember Warrior. Shows how much class Steve Borden has. It also looks like Sting may NOT be debuting for WWE anytime soon. Interesting, when we were told by two VERY credible sources that he would be making his WWE debut VERY soon.
