A new report from PWInsider.com has revealed that a documentary highlighting the Ultimate Warrior’s final days was filmed by WWE. According to the report, a WWE camera crew followed Warrior and his family around during WrestleMania weekend in New Orleans, filming everything they did including a behind-the-scene look at his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2014.

Originally, the footage recorded was going to be used for a future WWE project that would highlight Warrior’s return to the company. The finished product would likely have looked a lot like the “Journey to WrestleMania: Diary of Daniel Bryan” documentary that aired on the WWE Network on Tuesday, April 8.

However, as we previously reported, Warrior passed away tragically on April 8, just three days after he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He was returning home from WrestleMania weekend festivities that took place in New Orleans, and collapsed on the way to his car shortly after arriving back to his home state of Arizona.

Warrior appeared on the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 5, at WrestleMania XXX on April 6, then on “Monday Night Raw” on April 7. During his final WWE appearance on “Monday Night Raw,” Warrior addressed his “One Warrior Nation,” and eerily proclaimed that when a man’s heart stops beating, if he’s done something legendary, then his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he’s affected. He finished his address with the statement, “…and the spirit of Ultimate Warrior will run forever.”

With WWE having so much material highlighting Warrior’s heart-wrenching return home to WWE, which will now go down in history as his final days, the company may produce the documentary as more of a memorial instead of a “welcome home” production.

Editor’s Note: I really hope WWE uses sound judgement and uses this material in order to honor Warrior’s induction and address of the WWE Universe during his final days. It was so inspiring and encouraging to hear about him burying so many hatchets, squashing so much heat, and embracing former enemies this past weekend. I think if produced tastefully, a final days documentary would be great for the fans, but more so for his family, whom he stayed around and with all weekend. Our prayers continue to go to his wife and two children.
