WWE has confirmed that “Arrow” star Stephen Amell will confront Stardust on “RAW” on Aug. 10. As previously reported, Amell is currently scheduled to appear at WWE “SummerSlam” in some capacity with Stardust, whether it be by competing in a match, or standing in Neville’s corner during a match involving “The Man Gravity Forgot” and “The Strange One.”
However, WWE and Cody decided to keep Stardust alive, as Rhodes explains in a blog post written through his wife’s official site soon after his return to the ring. With Stardust vowing to “finish what he started,” due to his father’s words to do so playing back in his head, the program with Amell picked back up.
Following Stardust’s taunt of Neville seen on “Monday Night Raw” on Aug. 3, it was quickly confirmed by WWE that Amell would be appearing on the flagship program on Aug. 10. Their official announcement reads as follows,
“STEPHEN AMELL TO GUEST STAR ON WWE® MONDAY NIGHT RAW®
STAMFORD, Conn., August 3, 2015 – Actor Stephen Amell, who plays the title role on the hit series Arrow, will guest star on WWE’s Monday Night Raw next Monday, August 10, at 8/7C on USA Network. After several visits to Monday Night Raw, Amell will be appearing as a guest star for the first time.
Based on characters from DC Comics, Arrow tells the story of billionaire Oliver Queen who, after being gone for five years and suffering unimaginable ordeals, returned home to Starling City with a mysterious agenda and a set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime as “The Arrow” in this hard-hitting action series.
Next up for Amell is the role of Casey Jones in Paramount Pictures’ and Nickelodeon Movies’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Produced by Michael Bay, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 opens in theaters Summer 2016.
Monday Night Raw is the longest-running, weekly episodic program in U.S. primetime TV history and is one of the most-watched, regularly scheduled programs on cable, airing live every Monday night on USA Network. Each week, it is rated one of the most socially active shows on cable television and continues to be a “must-stop” for celebrities to reach WWE’s TV audience and its more than half a billion social media followers.”
What type of “SummerSlam” involvement this will lead to has yet to be seen, but it appears as if The Green Arrow may be facing off against Stardust in some way, shape, or form come Aug. 23.
Editor’s Note:
If they do this right, it could be gold. Cody Rhodes is awesome with this Stardust character, and he’s getting more and more over each week. This could help bring closure to this program, and encourage Rhodes well into his next program should this one run as a success.
