Could Sheamus be crossing over to the Dark Side? Recent reports claim Sheamus may be away from WWE television currently to appear as Darth Vader in the upcoming “Star Wars” sequel, “Star Wars: Episode VII.” While Irish publication The Irish Mirror recently ran a story on the matter, Sheamus took to Twitter to comment on such rumors.

Sheamus, who is WWE’s current United States Champion, tweets,

Initially, it was reported by WWE that Sheamus has been away from WWE competition since “Battleground” due to “severe flu.” However, recent images of Sheamus riding bikes and looking to be in “severely” high spirits seem to contradict these claims. People around the town where “Star Wars” is currently filming in Ireland have noted that they’ve seen Sheamus around for multiple days, indicating that he is doing something significant there.

Sheamus has played the role of Darth Vader for “Star Wars” promotional tours before, and he may very well be joining the cast and crew of J.J. Abrams’ newest installment to the franchise. His frame is perfect for the role, much like Kevin Nash was perfect for the casting of “Super Shredder” in the 1992 film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.”

One would assume Darth Vader’s role in the upcoming film would be mere flashback images, since he perished at the end of “Return of the Jedi,” but we won’t know for sure until the motion picture arrives in theaters in December of 2015.

Editor’s Note:
The fanboy in me just marked out a bit. This is awesome. Hilarious that they would use “severe flu” as the smoke screen, but for some time, we all bought that excuse hook, line, and sinker.
