In a recent “Q&A” during a Wizard World Comic Con appearance, current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins confirms that he is done using the Curb Stomp for now. Rollins goes on to say that his finish is the Pedigree until further notice.
As previously noted, WWE asked Rollins to stop using the Curb Stomp maneuver as his finish due to impending lawsuits against the company dealing with “brutality” suffered in the ring. With the Curb Stomp being a move that looks like a vicious attack on an opponents head, WWE asked Rollins to cease with using it as his finish until further notice.
While the Curb Stomp is expected to return once the lawsuits are settled, Rollins has adopted Triple H’s Pedigree finish to further tease a feud between “The Game” and “The Future of the WWE” somewhere down the road. They experimented with a DDT like maneuver for Rollins’ finish before settling on him using Triple H’s signature move.
WWE has removed footage of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion using the Curb Stomp from his official Titantron entrance video. They also have been cutting the move out of replay footage of his title win at WrestleMania 31, when he used the Curb Stomp to take out Roman Reigns. Rollins can be seen discussing the disappearance of the Curb Stomp in the video below.
Editor’s Note:
It’s interesting to me that Rollins told Dean Ambrose during the May 25 edition of “Monday Night Raw” that he was going to end him with his boot, yet he’s still not allowed to use the Curb Stomp. We’ll see what happens at “Elimination Chamber” on Sunday, I guess.
