In news that shook the entire wrestling community, Destination America announced Wednesday afternoon Ring Of Honor would be making its official debut on the channel next Wednesday, June 3. The move comes in the wake of a reported falling out between TNA officials and the channel over the status of “IMPACT WRESTLING,” which was reportedly expected to be canceled.

The original reports indicated Destination America had an opt-out clause with TNA in September, and the show was expected to remain on the air until then. TNA officials assured talent everything would be fine, and moved to file legal action against the initial reports of the show’s demise.

Destination America will air Ring Of Honor’s programming at 8 p.m. ET, which is an hour before “IMPACT.” The channel moved “IMPACT” to Wednesday nights starting next week, meaning both shows will air back-to-back on the channel.

The move was announced via tweet, which was then endorsed by the official Ring Of Honor account:

There is said to be much tension between TNA president Dixie Carter and channel officials. Rather than airing a new episode of “IMPACT” last week, Destination America choose instead to show a repeat of last year’s edition of “Slammiversary.” Several weeks of television are being taped leading up to this year’s “Slammiversary,” all of which are scheduled as of now to still air on Destination America. Next week’s edition of “IMPACT” is listed as the Wednesday night “premiere.”

One of the alleged holdups between TNA and Destination America was said to be the issue of advertisers. It was said advertisers were not interested in getting on-board with wrestling, though this move would indicate otherwise. Even though there is less advertising for a one-hour program, it would still indicate Destination America received some interest on that behalf.

As reported, Ring Of Honor has been making strides in the television department as of late. It had a trial run with NESN to have its programming shown on a larger scale, and even dabbled into a large market in Dallas.

There has yet to be an official statement from any of the involved parties, including TNA. Stay with Wrestling Rumors for more on this story.

***UPDATE*** Wed. 2:13 p.m.

New details regarding the contract have been revealed, including an official press release from Destination America.
