Samoa Joe Promoted For Non-WWE Summer Events
Samoa Joe is being promoted for non-WWE wrestling matches in August. It was previously reported that Joe had finally signed some sort of agreement with WWE and may possibly be debuting for NXT during the May 20 “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable” event.
While Joe may have signed something to appear on NXT programming, it appears that if this is the case, his deal will be very similar to Rhyno’s contract. Rhyno’s deal allows him to appear on NXT programming, yet still work independent shows on the side.
NorthEastWrestling.com posted the following on May 18 promoting Samoa Joe for the “Wrestling Under the Stars Tour.”
“There are many rumors where Samoa Joe may be going or where he may end up. NEW fans there is one thing for sure – this is not a rumor this is a fact.
Samoa Joe returns to Northeast Wrestling as a part of our Wrestling Under the Stars Tour on Saturday, August 1st at Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, NY and Sunday, August 2nd at a location to be announced next week.
On August 1st he will be joined by Rey Mysterio, Alberto El Patron fka Alberto Del Rio, The Young Bucks, Mickie James, Velvet Sky, NEW Champion Matt Taven, Brian Anthony and many other superstars to be announced. Tickets for this event are on sale now at northeastwrestling.com”
Joe’s status with WWE remains under speculation, but it appears that he will at least be working some independent dates regardless to his association with WWE.
Editor’s Note:
Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder if he did sign “Rhyno-Esc” deal.
