WWE superstar Rob Van Dam is being advertised for the company’s new October PPV, WWE Battleground. As we previously reported, RVD has also been added to dates in September as well as for the new PPV event, ensuring that the “The Whole F’n Show” will at least remain active in the WWE through October.
The length of Van Dam’s current WWE contract has not been confirmed, although Van Dam himself has hinted at it lasting a full year, with a work schedule like the one Chris Jericho recently had. Currently, Van Dam is expected to work all remaining Monday Night Raw and Smackdown tapings in July and August, aside from the August 27th Smackdown tapings set to take place in Las Vegas, NV. Van Dam then has a break, only to return at the September 17th Smackdown taping, possibly to set up a storyline for Battleground.
Interesting enough, Van Dam is schedule to appear on Raw and Smackdown until August 18th’s SummerSlam PPV, but is not being advertised as being a part of the annual event. This could certainly change in the upcoming weeks, as the card is always subject to change.
