Rob Van Dam is expected to be written off of WWE television after WWE Battleground. As we previously reported, this relates to a contractual issue with Van Dam, as he has yet to sign a new deal with the company.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that plans to take RVD off of TV may include having Ricardo Rodriguez turn on “Mr. Monday Night” and join the side of World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio once again.

WWE Creative had Del Rio and Rodriguez split when Rodriguez had to be written off of television in July for a thirty-day suspension involving drugs. If he had never been suspended, it is likely that he and Del Rio would never have been torn apart. Del Rio viciously attacked Rodriguez to send him off of TV, which is why Rodriguez has been at the side of Del Rio’s current challenger, Rob Van Dam.
