The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Rey Mysterio has been offered a Part-Time wrestler and ambassador contract with WWE. Mysterio was reportedly at the WWE corporate office in Stamford, Conn. on April 30 going over the unique offer.

A contract was reportedly put on the table for Mysterio, and it was one that would see him only compete in the ring on a part-time schedule. He would also be an ambassador for the company, especially for the WWE markets that use Spanish as their primary language. According to the report, nothing has been signed and everything is up-in-the-air, but WWE CEO Vince McMahon reportedly wants Mysterio to stay in WWE.

Mysterio’s status has been in question for months now, with many believing backstage that he would be leaving WWE when his current deal runs out in June. Some rumors even claimed that Mysterio would be heading to work for the AAA promotion upon his WWE contract coming to an end, but that would not happen if he signs a new deal with McMahon and co.

Editor’s Note:

Mysterio isn’t really a hot commodity in the wrestling world anymore. He’s constantly injured, and it’s probably time he simply becomes an agent or ambassador and hangs up his wrestling boots.
