CHICAGO, IL, NOV. 19, 2013—Celebrating its second year of production, Resistance Pro presents “Caress of Steel.” On Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, Amundsen High School will be the location for the anniversary celebration filled with all Resistance Pro stars and a guest appearance from WWE Legend and star of “Magic Mike” “Big Daddy Cool” Kevin “Diesel” Nash. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. but doors will open at 6 p.m. at Amundsen High School, 5110 N. Damen Avenue, Chicago, Ill. “Caress of Steel” will benefit the school. Resistance Pro is a partnership between Smashing Pumpkins singer/songwriter Billy Corgan and brothers Jacques and Gabriel Baron.

Since its inception, Resistance Pro has made a commitment to the Chicagoland community and young wrestling fans. Now in its third month, Resistance Pro has adopted the “Positive Outreach Program” (POP) created by Resistance Pro star C-Red. POP was created to motivate students to maintain a positive attitude in and out of school, to follow their dreams, be productive members of society and encourage a positive outlook on life. POP events are planned at area schools where Corgan, the Baron brothers, C-Red and other Resistance Pro stars put on a show, interact with students, answer questions and send messages of living a positive, proactive life to youngsters.

“I’m very proud of what Resistance Pro has done in the last two years and am especially proud of the POP program,” says Corgan. “We aim to encourage young people to live a positive life and never give up on their dreams. Everyone in Resistance Pro followed their dreams. Young people should have the encouragement to do the same.”

The first POP event will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at Amudensen High School. Hundreds of children will gather in the gym for a 9:30 a.m. program consisting of a preview wrestling match and interaction with Resistance Pro stars after.

A second POP event will be Monday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Neil Armstrong Elementary School, 5030 Imperial Drive, Richton Park, Ill. The game show style events will take place from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. for kindergarten through third grades and then from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. for grades four and five. The “Jeopardy” style event will put Resistance Pro stars against students at Neil Armstrong Elementary School.

“Caress of Steel” will be an all-ages show and will be a TV taping for Resistance Pro’s YouTube channel: RealResistancePro. For details on the match-ups, for tickets and for more information on POP, log onto www.Resistancepro.com.
