WrestleMania XXX may be a selling point for the WWE Network. As we previously reported, many people believe that the WWE Network will launch in early 2014, especially after it was confirmed that the WWE will be canceling its On Demand service in February of 2014. A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is claiming that while many people in the WWE do not know when the network will officially launch, they believe that it will be before WrestleMania XXX and that the PPV will be used as selling point for subscriptions.

The Observer claims that one of their sources has stated that WrestleMania XXX is strongly being discussed as a way to actually get people to initially sign-up for the WWE Network.  The idea is that the company would gain a great number of subscribers immediately if those signing-up realize they can get the biggest event of the year, WrestleMania XXX, in HD for “free” just by paying the $9.95-a-month subscription fee for the channel.

The report claims that the thought in the WWE is that if fans subscribe right away, they won’t want to cancel down the road, especially not with classic content, NXT, and monthly PPV’s being offered through the service.
