The Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that the supposed “real” reason behind Daniel Bryan appearing on the “Money In The Bank” Kick-Off show had to do with Bo Dallas. According to the report, Bryan’s inclusion on the show was not to merely announce that he may need a second surgery, but to sell his lines about Dallas being a “BO-ner,” and about “BO-leaving,” in hopes that the crowd would get behind the comments and chant them.

Dallas, who debuted on the main roster in May, is supposed to be a heel that acts like a face. The issue is, his segments are getting more and more entertaining and sarcastic, and much like the Bad News Barrett gimmick, it is getting over with the WWE Universe.

With this in mind, WWE officials thought if they had Bryan appear on the pre-show, they wouldn’t have to have a match during the segment, and they could try to get one of the company’s top babyfaces to get heat on one of their new heels. Dallas made jokes during the segment, saying that Bryan’s injury taking him out of the ring must be a pain in the neck, and also gave an “inspirational” speech to Bryan about “believing” in the fact that he can come back better than ever.

Following Dallas’ speech, Bryan called him a “BO-ner,” and the hot Boston crowd joined in, calling Bo the name as well. It was this chant that the company wanted to stick to the character, however so far it has not worked. Bryan even tried to push the chant on the WWE Universe on Twitter later in the PPV when a recap of his and Dallas’ interaction was shown to everyone. The recap didn’t focus on Bryan possibly needing a second surgery, it highlighted the “BO-ner” chant.

Bryan sent this tweet out following the recap airing during “Money In The Bank,”

Bryan may be out of action until 2015 if he does go through with a second surgery. Dallas, who remains undefeated, will vie for the Intercontinental Championship as part of the “Battleground” Battle Royal on July 20.

Editor’s Note:
That was their plan? Get everyone to chant “BO-ner?” Wow. Well done Creative. Well done (Too bad Dallas is gonna get over doing exactly what he’s doing).
