In a new report from PWInsider.com, the purpose of the WrestleMania XXX Pre-Show being two hours has been revealed. According to the report, WWE is running the pre-show “super long” as a strategic maneuver that they hope will encourage more people to subscribe for the WWE Network.

As we previously reported, the beginning of the WrestleMania XXX Pre-Show will air from 5-6 p.m.ET on WWE.com (Youtube, Yahoo, etc.) just as normal. However, the second portion of the program will air exclusively on the WWE Network from 6-7 p.m.

The company’s hope is that viewers will watch the first hour, and become intrigued with what is being offered during the second hour. Then, they will sign-up for the WWE Network, which locks each subscriber into a six-month commitment, in order to watch the rest of the program and WrestleMania itself.
