The Prime Time Players are WWE Tag Team Champions as of June 14. Titus O’Neil and Darren Young won the gold from Xavier Woods and Big E of The New Day during the 2015 edition of “Money In The Bank.”
Young and O’Neil grabbed their first WWE Tag Team Championship reign from The New Day after Big E speared Young through the ring ropes. After that spot, Woods would try to get the better of O’Neil, who would side-step Woods and grab the pin for the straps.
O’Neil and Young have waited three years to capture WWE gold. During their first run as a tag team, the duo came close, but never grabbed that brass ring. They then split up to attempt singles careers, but failed simultaneously at getting over on their own.
Young then announced to the world that he is a Homosexual as he rehabbed an injury. O’Neil, who was to feud with Young upon his return, was then paired back with Young following his in-ring resurgence.
Prime Time Players began working together as a team again in early 2015. As of June 14, they will now live forever in the WWE history books as Tag Team Champions.
Editor’s Note:
They’ll likely lose those straps back to The New Day on “RAW” or at “Battleground,” but congrats none-the-less.
