Kurt Angle Undergoes Successful Surgery to Remove Neck Tumor
Former WWE and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle underwent successful surgery on July 7. As previously reported, Angle had a benign tumor on his neck that needed to be removed, as it was putting pressure on nerves in the area of its placement.
Angle recently worked the last set of “IMPACT WRESTLING” tapings, dropping the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to Ethan Carter III. Speculation on Angle’s time of recovery has also questioned how long Angle will be off of “IMPACT WRESTLING” television.
According to doctors, general healing time for such a procedure is at least three weeks. This would bring Angle back in wrestling shape around July 28 if he is 100 percent by then. TNA begins taping episodes of “IMPACT WRESTLING” on July 22 and will run tapings for two weeks in order to film TV material for upwards of four-to-five months, meaning Angle could return during the second week of tapings and hopefully return to TNA television in the Fall.
If Angle isn’t ready to return by July 28, he may not make it back on TNA television until November or so. However, Angle posted the following message through his official Instagram account on July 7 shortly after his procedure was finished.
WrestlingRumors.net continues to wish Angle a full and speedy recovery.
Editor’s Note:
Good to see Angle’s in good spirits. Knowing what TNA, Jeff, and Karen Jarrett did to him before “Slammiversary” in regards to their refusal to let him know they were working the PPV, and that they had Karen and Angle’s kids with them, the man needs to get out of that company IMO. Definitely no way to treat one of your Hall of Famers and champions. Glad he’s positive and ready to recover.
