On September 10th, 2012, Jerry “The King” Lawler reportedly suffered a near fatal heart attack. The event happened during an episode of Monday Night Raw, and Lawler was calling a match between the Prime Time Players and Team Hell No.
Lawler collapsed in a horrifying manner behind his announce table in Montreal, Canada. Commentary was halted and Lawler was rushed into medical care.
As it’s been reported for exactly one-year today, Lawler suffered a heart attack, but he has actually stated in interviews that this diagnosis is incorrect. Lawler says he went through Sudden Cardiac Arrest, which according to the Mayo Clinic, “usually results from an electrical disturbance in your heart that disrupts its pumping action, stopping blood flow to the rest of your body.”
Lawler remembers the one-year anniversary of this event Tuesday morning via his Twitter account. He says,
Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers from everyone about cardiac arrest 1 year ago today…thank God & Doc Sampson everything is fine now!
