The Jan. 27 “Smackdown” tapings have been canceled due to severe weather, PWInsider.com reports. Along with the Jan. 26 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” it is the snow storm that is attacking the Northeast United States that has forced WWE’s hand into canceling the events.
“WWE Smackdown” tapings were scheduled to take place in Boston, Massachusetts on Jan. 27. With both “RAW” and “Smackdown” being canceled, just one night removed from WWE’s 28th annual “Royal Rumble” event and controversial fan fall-out, questions remain about what will air on the USA and SyFy networks on Monday and Thursday night.
The report claims that sources from the arena where “Smackdown” was to be held is claiming that the scheduled show will be cancelled due to weather concerns, and that they do not know if and/or when they can reschedule there.
WWE officials are reportedly at work trying to get a time and place to hold “Smackdown” live on Thursday night, but nothing has been nailed down as of yet. This would mean the storylines written for the Jan. 26 edition of “Monday Night Raw” will likely be combined with whatever the company was planning on doing for “Smackdown” so that the live edition of the Thursday night show will draw viewers.
