Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently revealed on Twitter that he’s currently in Philadelphia, the home of WWE’s “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view on Sunday night.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com then confirmed that WWE is looking to include him on the show in some capacity, although how that will play out remains to be seen.

MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE worker with inside information on the company who now makes posts on Reddit, was told in recent weeks that WWE and Johnson have been in serious discussions over a Rumble appearance.

The plan would be for him to come out as a surprise entrant in the “Royal Rumble” match with him ultimately winning. This would set up a Rock vs. Brock Lesnar WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 31.

If those plans were to fall through, he would at least make some sort of appearance, even if it were something as small as a backstage segment.

He also notes that WWE has strongly considered giving Bray Wyatt the Rumble win, as they “feel that the sky is the limit for him.”

A match between Rock and Brock was originally slated for WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, although that ultimately fell through.

Editor’s Note

It’s looking more and more like Rock will be at this show. Will he win the Rumble? He’s certainly vaulted himself into the conversation.
