The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Hulk Hogan may be featured in some way during the 2014 edition of WWE “SummerSlam” on Aug. 17. As previously reported, Hogan will be appearing during the “SummerSlam” go-home edition of “Monday Night Raw” as host, and may take that role over to the actual Pay-Per-View event itself.
Hogan will appear on the Aug. 11 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” which is also his birthday. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer writes,
“It looks like a good bet Hogan will be involved in SummerSlam stemming from something on that show since both Hogan and Flair are booked for an 8/16 house show the night before SummerSlam in San Jose, in the role of co-hosts for the show. I don’t think Hogan has done a WWE house show in years.”
While Flair was used on WWE TV on July 14, he was not used on July 21 or July 22, which leads to some confusion on where he will fit in and be used on the WWE main roster, but he is also expected to appear at “SummerSlam” in some way. Both Flair and Hogan serving as hosts for the WWE Live Event in San Jose just one night prior to “SummerSlam” holds enough drawing power to sell out the house without even having a wrestling match advertised.
Hogan will also be appearing on two different WWE panels that are replacing “SummerSlam’s” Axxess event. He will be on a panel on Friday, Aug. 15 from 7 – 10:30 p.m. ET, and will then be a part of the “WWE 2K15” panel on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 – 1:30 p.m. ET. Flair was not asked to be a part of that panel due to the controversial panel held prior to “SummerSlam” in 2013, which cost Jim Ross his job.
Editor’s Note:
Hogan could EASILY back Jack Swagger up against Rusev and make Swagger an even bigger Hoss than he already is!
