The feud between John Cenea and The Wyatt Family may run until “SummerSlam.” A new episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio” gives new insight into the length of this program, which may last past June 1 and WWE’s “Payback” event.
Some sources even claim that WWE Creative is working on ways to keep the Cena and Wyatt feud running until August, where the two would have their final battle on the “SummerSlam” stage. Wyatt and Cena began working their current program against one another following “Elimination Chamber” in Feb. This led to their first match being held at WrestleMania XXX. Cena would win the battle, but the war would rage on.
The two would have their second bout on May 4 at WWE “Extreme Rules” inside of a steel cage. Wyatt, with the use of Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, and “Little Johnny,” would pick up the win and take their rivalry to a 1-1 record. The two men are expected to have at least one more match at WWE “Payback” on June 1, but if the reports are true, it could be August before this program is over.
Some have hinted towards Rowan and Harper beginning a feud with the Usos, which would allow Six-Man Tag Team Matches to take place between the Usos with Cena as a team versus the Wyatt Family. This could be the shot in the arm this program needs to take them forward a couple of months.
Editor’s Note:
I’m totally fine with this one going farther than “Payback.” This, aside from March-Mania’s “Daniel Bryan and Authority” angle, is the only truly working program in the company that could have long-term legs to it. This is my favorite feud right now, and I don’t want it to end immediately. Let’s go to August…as long as WWE Creative doesn’t start to make it creepy.
