WWE has announced on WWE.com that there will be a 20-man battle royal held on “Monday Night Raw” this Monday evening. On the line will be Dean Ambrose’s WWE United States Championship.

The website claims that the match has been ordered on behalf of The Authority as a ramification of The Shield’s victory on Sunday night. The “Hounds of Justice” defeated Evolution in a six-man tag match at “WWE Extreme Rules” in a brutal affair.

Ambrose won the championship on May 19, 2013 at the “Payback” pay-per-view. While he has gotten a lot of heat from fans for barely having defended it, he did so this past week on “Friday Night Smackdown.” He defeated Alberto Del Rio, Ryback and Curtis Axel in a fatal four way match to retain the championship.

It is unknown at this time who will be in the battle royal itself.

Editor’s Note:

It’s the night after a pay-per-view, which means there’s a very good chance Ambrose could lose his championship tonight. I like this, and it could make for some creative booking. Keep your eyes on a heel to take it, potentially. If they would like to move towards unification though with the Intercontinental Championship, it may be a face.

Hopefully, there won’t be any “bad news” for the current champ.
