Former WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne is expected to return to WWE soon. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the company recently talked more in detail backstage about bringing Bourne back onto WWE television, as he has been ready to return for some time now.
Bourne last competed on a major WWE broadcast in 2012 with his then tag team partner Kofi Kingston in a losing effort with Primo and Epico (now known as Los Matadores). Bourne then broke his foot in four places as the result of a car accident in March of the same year, and was off of WWE TV for over a year rehabilitating the injury.
Bourne then made a surprise return to the company on March 28, 2013, defeating Rami Sebei (now known as Sami Zayn) at an NXT live event. However, since that match, Bourne has not been used by the company in any way since.
Though he has been awaiting the chance to return, WWE Creative have just not had anywhere to use Bourne since he has worked his way back up to being 100 percent. However, the WWE Universe could see Bourne return at the twenty-seventh annual “Royal Rumble” Pay-Per-View on Jan. 26. Bourne himself recently teased that he would be a part of the event on Twitter saying,
My favorite Annual PPV will always and forever be @WWE‘s Royal Rumble. Wait, that gives me an idea…

With WWE Creative not really having anything for Evan Bourne as of late, the 30-man Royal Rumble Match would be the perfect stage for the young competitor to re-emerge on WWE programming.
