In a reveal before the upcoming live broadcast of their documentary set to air on May 5, ESPN has released Tyler Breeze’s portion of “E:60: Behind the Curtain” early. As previously reported, the ESPN produced documentary will give a behind the scenes look at the WWE Performance Center, NXT and their programming, and will follow stars such as Adam Rose, Xavier Woods, and Breeze as they strive to become WWE superstars.
The documentary is set to showcase what all goes into making not only a superstar, but all WWE events work with production, networks, and most importantly, the WWE Universe. Fans will get a rare glimpse “behind the curtain” and into the backstage area to watch NXT producers such as Triple H and Dusty Rhodes work with the crew and talent, hoping to create characters and events that connect with the audience.
During the following excerpt on Breeze, real name Matt Clement, gives the WWE Universe a look into his progression from being Mike Dalton in FCW, to Tyler Breeze in NXT. His change of character came from necessity, as it’s revealed that if he didn’t come up with a new persona, he’d be let go from his developmental contract.
You get to see Breeze coming up with promo ideas and rehearsing them, as well as how his “Zoolander”-esc entrance and persona came about. It’s also revealed that Triple H was the mastermind behind Breeze using a cell phone to star at himself in a “selfie” pose, as Breeze had been using a hand mirror for months prior.
The entire edition of “E:60: Behind the Curtain airs on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. ET on May 5.
