In light of the out pouring of negative response to the news report, Diamond Dallas Page has issued a statement in regards to his appearance on Nancy Grace’s Headline News program. As we previously reported, Grace had DDP on the program on April 9 to discuss the tragic death of the Ultimate Warrior, which occurred on April 8. She then began to imply that steroids were the cause, and that illegal drugs and steroids are why many Sports Entertainers lose their lives at an early age.
Page was offended by Grace’s decorum and pursuit of her own agenda during the segment, releasing the following statement in response to the footage that aired.
“I went on Nancy Grace last night expecting to discuss Warrior the man. Had I known the only topic discussed would be steroids I would not have participated. At the time I was also unaware of the list that was shown to the viewing audience. To imply that all of the wrestlers on that list died from steroids was wrong and for that they owe the families an apology. Again, my only intention was to discuss Warrior the man and share some stories about how dedicated he was to the wrestling business. I am saddened that was not what happened and my thoughts remain with his family. – DDP”
As Warrior’s death was so sudden, it remains the hot topic of discussion. Many would just like for that discussion to remain positive, instead of turning the subject into a negative.
