New reports from PWInsider.com are providing further details regarding Alberto Del Rio’s release from WWE. As previously reported, WWE.com announced that Del Rio had been terminated from his contract on Aug. 7 due to unprofessional conduct, which included an altercation with a fellow employee.

A story soon came out following the release of the official WWE statement, which claimed Del Rio slapped a WWE Social Media employee. The new report from PWInsider claims Del Rio is saying the altercation happened due to a racist comment from his co-worker.

Del Rio has a history of being short-tempered. He has regularly had issues with fighting others, and it is said that he merely acted out in anger in response to something the took as racist. WWE is not expected to elaborate on the situation past the official statement released on Aug. 7. They believe that termination was required, and those are the only details necessary going forward.

As previously reported, Del Rio’s WWE contract was coming to an end soon, and he wasn’t expected to re-sign. F4WOnline.com is reporting that TNA and AAA are already expressing interest in the former WWE Champion.

Editor’s Note:
Even if you think you hear something racist come from someone, you have to believe he knew that slapping another employee was going to land him in hot water. Not smart.
