Only one match remains unconfirmed for the WWE PPV “Battleground,” which will air live on selective Cable Television outlets and the WWE Network on July 20. With just about every match being confirmed for the card during the July 8 tapings for “Smackdown,” only one match remains unannounced by the company and will likely be set in stone during the July 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins is expected to finalize the card for “Battleground.”
Rollins and Ambrose have been at odds with each other since Rollins turned on The Shield on June 2. After their constant fighting on WWE TV, and insanely aggressive confrontation at “Money In The Bank,” the two are set to work matches together for the next three Pay-Per-Views.
Rollins, who won the 2014 Money in the Bank briefcase, may put the prize on the line during one of their matches, although their “Batlleground” bout will not likely feature any added stipulation. Ambrose and Rollins are set to be one of the major WWE programs moving towards “Night Of Champions” in September, where the “Best of 3” PPV matches will likely take place, possibly involving the Money in the Bank contract.
Ambrose has vowed to interrupt all of Rollins’ attempts at Money in the Bank cash-ins, which will render his briefcase useless for an entire year, if Ambrose isn’t dealt with. The current plan at the moment is to have Ambrose face Rollins at “Battleground,” “SummerSlam,” and “Night Of Champions.” However, the card is ALWAYS subject to change.
