Cesaro Censored During “RAW” Mistakenly

During the June 29 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” former United States Champion Cesaro was censored by television producers during his bout with John Cena. Cesaro was the man who answered Cena’s regularly issued United States Championship open challenge.

It appeared as if NXT Champion Kevin Owens was going to answer the challenge and face Cena 3 weeks ahead of WWE “Battleground,” as he emerged from the back after Cena made his way to the ring for the Open Challenge. However, after Lilian Garcia announced both men’s names to start the bout, Owens left the ring and said that he would be waiting until the Pay-Per-View on July 19. Cesaro then made his way to the ring to answer the challenge.

After a match of the year candidate of a bout that ran around 20 minutes, Owens jumped in the ring and cost Cesaro the match. Cesaro had hit Cena with the Big Swing/Sharpshooter combination, and had the upper hand before Owens ran him and nailed both him and Cena with Pop-Up Powerbombs.

However, during the match, there was a brief moment where the screen went completely black. Cesaro was peppering Cena with European Uppercuts in rapid succession, when he stopped, and raised his ring fingers in the face of Cena, as if he was flipping him, “the bird.” With the live broadcast being on a seven second delay, and with either WWE or USA production team members believing that Cesaro was giving Cena the old “Stone Cold” Steve Austin treatment in the middle of the ring, they “went dark” for a few seconds, censoring the spot on US television.

However, WrestlingRumors.net follower Dalton Bates posted an uncensored version of the “RAW” spot on his Twitter account, proving that Cesaro did not flip Cena the bird, instead flashing his “brass ring” fingers at the Champ. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, who are former WWE Tag Team Champions, referred to themselves as “The Brass Ring Club,” and the “Best Team Ever” (#BTE). Cesaro flashing his ring fingers at Cena is a showing of him “reaching out and grabbing Vince McMahon’s imaginary brass rings” whenever he goes out and steals the show.
