Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan is Slated for “SummerSlam”

A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan is slated for “SummerSlam” in August. Currently, the company has Lesnar and Bryan competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the annual August event, but cards are always subject to change due to issues such as injuries.

Bryan is currently rehabilitating from issues with his right arm that had to be worked on through surgery on his neck. His recovery is said to be going slower than expected, with his strength in the arm actually getting worse than better during rehab. While Bryan is penciled in to face Kane for the championship at “Money In The Bank,” if he cannot in fact compete at the event, WWE officials will strip him of the title and have six or more mean fight for the right to be WWE World Heavyweight Champion in a Ladder Match on June 29.

With a new champion likely to be crowned following “Money In The Bank” if Bryan cannot compete, it is likely that Lesnar will face whoever the new champion is at “SummerSlam.” The company wants Lesnar to be the next big No. 1 Contender for the title, then work a program with the “King of Swing” Cesaro.

Lesnar’s upcoming program with Cesaro is what WWE officials want to do as a catalyst for Cesaro’s face-turn and main event push, giving him the victory over the Paul Heyman guy who conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

I assume that Lesnar would go over Bryan so that Cesaro would get the title off of Lesnar at “Night of Champions,” but that is yet to be seen.
