WCNC.com, a Charlotte NBC news affiliate, is reporting that Mecklenburg judge has issued an order for arrest for two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Flair was reportedly held in contempt of court earlier this month for not paying his wife, whom he is legally separated from, more than $32,000 in spousal support.
Cleve Wootson of the Charlotte Observer write that Flair, real name Richard Fliehr, was ordered to pay $4,000 a month to Jacqueline Beems. The money was supposed to go towards her car payment, health insurance, and legal fees. However, even after Flair was given two court orders commanding him to pay the required $32,352.51, he still refused payment. These claims come from court documents obtained by the Observer and Brad Smith, Beems’ attorney.
The order for arrest was issued on July 3rd, but the sixteen-time World Heavyweight Champion can avoid jail time if he just pays what he owes. Melinda Zanoni, Flair’s attorney, did not refused to comment on the matter Tuesday.
Beems claims to have no idea where Flair is, and her attorney stated that the recent accusations about Beems making harassing phone calls to Flair’s new girlfriend are “unfounded and outlandish.” Beems turned herself in to authorities Tuesday morning and was charged with making a harassing phone call, a misdemeanor. She’s accused of calling and harassing Wendy Kidder, Flair’s current girlfriend, and was released on a $500 bond.
Flair and Beems were married in November 2009, and separated in June 2012. Beems of course accused Flair of committing “acts of marital misconduct” when citing the reason for the separation.
Flair has denied the allegations.
