In a recent interview with “Hey U Guys,” former WWE Champion Batista says he wants to return only to work WWE Live Events. Dave “Batista” Bautista hasn’t been seen on WWE television since June of 2014, where he quit the company to return to Hollywood in successful manner.

Batista was one of the stars of the 2014 Summer blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The success of the Marvel movie thrust Bautista into the offices of film directors, casting agents, and producers, all offering him high-paying roles.

With a new found popularity in film, those close to Batista in Hollywood began telling him that he should focus on movies and not return to finish out the 18 months that remain on his current WWE contract. As of April 22, 2015, he has not. Batista signed a two-year contract with WWE in January of 2014.

However, his return did not go as planned. Batista was set to win the 2014 Royal Rumble Match, headline WrestleMania XXX, and hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship until “SummerSlam.” Daniel Bryan was the man the company had not prepared for, and the script got flipped.

Batista wound up rejoining with Triple H and Randy Orton in a modified arrangement of Evolution (with Ric Flair missing). The faction feuded with The Shield before disbanding during the June 2, 2014 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Batista quit to return to film making.

In the interview, he discusses his departure from WWE in 2014, as well as how he would want to return and work a schedule like Chris Jericho did during his last run, meaning only working house shows, and never being on television. As the last run for Batista wasn’t what he wanted, he doesn’t likely want to appear on TV again.

He also says he doesn’t want to appear on WWE TV because then you’re “locked into the scripts,” which he doesn’t feel are very good in the first place. He also discusses how he believes “Guardians of the Galaxy II” will defeat the box office record that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Furious 7” recently set. He believes that now that everyone has seen “Guardians,” there’ll be even more people flock to the theaters to see the sequel.

Editor’s Note:

Interesting to hear Batista’s thoughts here. He definitely doesn’t want to be on TV again.
