Bad News Barrett is the 2015 King of the Ring
All hail King Barrett! Bad News Barrett is the 2015 King of the Ring winner. Barrett conquered the new main roster sensation Neville during the finals of the tournament on April 28 to become the first King of the Ring crowned in five years.
Barrett would defeat R-Truth in the semi-finals to advance to the finals of the 2015 King of the Ring with a Bull Hammer. Neville would advance to the finals after nailing Sheamus with his Red Arrow finish.
After a back-and-forth bout, a Bull Hammer would collide with the temple of Neville, laying him down for the one, two, three. Barrett now joins the slew of WWE Hall of Famers that have been anointed “King of the Ring,” including Harley Race, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, Booker T, Bret Hart, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Edge, and other huge WWE superstars such as Triple H, Billy Gunn, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, William Regal, and Sheamus.
You can watch the semi-finals and finals of the 2015 King of the Ring tournament On Demand via the WWE Network.
Editor’s Note:
I said it Sunday, last night during Wrestling Warm-Up, and last night during Wrestle REACTION. Barrett was the man that would be crowned king. King Barrett will be an awesome heel character, and most King of the Rings have been heels do to the pompous nature of the gimmick. Good choice, good fit. I’m looking forward to seeing what Barrett brings to the table…er…throne here.
