A new report from PWInsider.com has provided some backstage news on Batista’s future in wrestling. As previously reported, Batista’s WWE future has been in question since the success of the Summer’s biggest movie, “Guardians of the Galaxy,” in which he played a pivotal role. Even though “The Animal” has declared he will return, those in Hollywood would rather he not.
According to the report, Marvel Studios is currently restructuring their contract with Batista so that he will receive more compensation for his role as Drax the Destroyer due to the overwhelming response to “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The deal also locks “The Animal” into big money agreements for future Marvel films such as “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” and “Avengers 3: Civil War.”
Representatives for Batista’s film career want Batista out of professional wrestling. Some of their reasons are injury concerns, their belief that WWE mishandled his latest return, and how the fans response was incredibly negative. While Batista has expressed a number of the same concerns in recent interviews, he has also stated that he wants to return and wrestle at least one more match against Triple H at a WrestleMania.
Batista is currently signing on to future films, such as the upcoming “Kickboxer” reboot, and is positioning himself to be an action star much like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has done. He will reportedly now be treating Hollywood as his main career, and WWE as a secondary medium of employment.
Editor’s Note:
So…basically he’s going to come back…maybe…just to work A match and then be gone for good. Got it.
