Former TNA and Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries comments on his upcoming return to Ring of Honor in a series of tweets posted on the evening of July 6. As previously reported, Aries will be competing in his first non-TNA match in some time on July 17 for Ring of Honor.
The returning Ring of Honor alumni took to Twitter Monday, July 6 to comment on the positive reaction Ring of Honor fans have showered him with since his return was announced. He also says he loves Twitter’s “mute button” for the haters, and that this upcoming Ring of Honor appearance is only the beginning for Aries amidst his departure from TNA Wrestling.
It was previously noted that WWE was interested in Ring of Honor stars, and possibly Aries. Aries has the style WWE likes for NXT, but apart from that brand, it is unsure of how successful Aries would be on the main roster.
Aries’ comments about his upcoming schedule are as follows,
“Cannot wait to return to @ringofhonor July 17th in Las Vegas! And thank me now boys, because I’ll have the sexy @TheaTrinidadTMT by my side.
Cool to see the positivity for my @ringofhonor return. Also cool is the @twitter mute option for the haters… Support ALL PRO WRESTLING.
Again, it’s an exciting time in pro wrestling. And exciting to be free, and able to be apart of any and all of the #great things going on.
There’s a magic in the air, beyond the illusions. Your voices are being heard. @ringofhonor on July 17th is just the start…
#WeWantAries”
Whether or not Aries is teasing an appearance in NXT or not is all speculation, but he does claim that his Ring of Honor return is just the start.
Editor’s Note:
I think Aries could be an amazing heel addition to the NXT roster. With Kevin Owens leaving for the main roster, Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe are going to NEED credible heels to face aside from Rhyno. Maybe it’s time Aries gets the call to work WWE.
