A new post on the casting website Backstage.com shows that WWE is looking to create an NXT program that will be aimed at a younger audience. They are currently seeking kids ages 7-14 to to act as announcers and interviewers for backstage segments on the show, and everything will be taped at Full Sail University on Thursday evenings.
WWE has attempted to produce family-friendly programming since 2008, when their rating changed from TV-14 to TV-PG. They slowly began phasing out excessive blood and violence from their product, and began to create television that could be enjoyed by the whole family, seeking to create lifelong wrestling fans from an early age. Characters like Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and John Cena have become iconic role models for children, and WWE has even created the charity “Connor’s Cure,” in honor of Connor “The Crusher” Michalek, who passed away from cancer in 2014.
In NXT, the most popular superstar to a younger audience is undoubtedly Bayley, and it was even reported that she was the most popular female performer in all of WWE.

Editor’s Note:
I think that this could be a great thing to bring in the next generation of WWE fans. The popularity of NXT is overwhelming right now, and it only makes sense to try to target all ages with this fantastic content.
