It was emotional. Last night at Wrestlemania 40, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. This ended Reigns’ historic championship run at 1,316 days, over three and a half years.

The evening was special for many people in the company, including ring announcer Samantha Irvin, who became extremely emotional when she announced the result of the match.

You can see her reaction below:

Following the match, several people entered the ring to celebrate with Rhodes, including Brandi Rhodes, John Cena, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, LA Knight, CM Punk, and Mama Rhodes. Bruce Prichard and Triple H gave Cody big hugs as well.

Editor’s Opinion:

This is a bold statement, but Samantha Irvin is the greatest ring announcer of all time. She puts such a personal touch on her craft, and people look forward to her special introductions of superstars such as Chelsea Green and Ludwig Kaiser. On top of that, she displays her emotion and passion for professional wrestling every time she does her job, enhancing every part of the show. We all look forward to hearing her do her thing and are grateful for her energy!
