It’s always fun to reminisce about the past, but also to get some refreshers on some good and not so good ideas.

WWE has released a new video in which they reveal 7 submission holds that have been used by superstars of the past and present. They are moves that have since been forgotten by their originators, but were effective at the time of their use:

7 submission holds you don't remember

Below is a summary of the moves and who used them:

  1. Brock Lesnar – Brock Lock
  2. Batista – Batista Bite
  3. Goldberg – Rolling Knee Bar
  4. Triple H – Inverted Indian Death Lock (WCW)
  5. Randy Orton – Inverted Boston Crab
  6. Kane – Claw Hold
  7. Daniel Bryan – Cattle Mutilation

Editor’s Note:

Here’s my quick take on some of these movies:

  • The Brock Lock is not as effective as the Kimura Lock
  • The Batista Bite is very generic
  • Goldberg has been using the Rolling Knee Bar since his time in WCW
  • The Claw Hold is dumb.
  • That Daniel Bryan move looks awesome. But, didn’t he have a bunch of those types of moves in his arsenal?

Either way, this was a fun trip down memory lane!
