Even the seven deities may not be able to help in this case.
According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Matt Hardy will be taking some time off from in-ring competition to recover from some injuries that have been nagging him. We had previously reported that his lower back and pelvis have started to fuse together, which could be the reason for the needed time away.
The match on this past week’s Raw involving The B Team vs. Hardy & Bray Wyatt vs. The Revival was done as a way to get the Deleter of Worlds tag team off of television. You can see a clip from that match below:
Further, after Hardy undergoes treatment for his different injuries, a decision will be made to whether he can return to the company and in what type of capacity. It is reported that he will begin shadowing producers, in order to transition to a backstage role within WWE.
We will monitor this situation and provide updates as they become available to us.
Editor’s Opinion:
While this sucks, I’m not surprised. “Woken” Matt Hardy is one of my favorite wrestlers on Raw, but he has started to slow down quite a bit. Either way, his character is still absolute genius and if done correctly, could still be used in a major way in WWE.
