According to an update from Ringside News, the case is officially going to trial on May 21 of this year. The defamation lawsuit is reportedly for $1 million.
The lawsuit stems from comments that Punk made on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” Podcast back in December 2014. He said that, among other things, Amann failed to diagnose a staff infection that could have killed him. Punk would go on to discuss the negative culture in WWE, as well as the details of his final run with the company.
The Voice of the Voiceless left the company after losing the WWE Championship to The Rock in 2014. You can see a clip of one of his final segments on Raw below:

Editor’s Opinion:
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I lost all respect for this guy when he walked out on the company just because he didn’t get his way. I’m not surprised that he continues to whine and complain about things, just because he didn’t get his way. He’s not a martyr; he’s simply what his name says he is: a punk.
