The Rock Promotes Upcoming Disney Film at D23 Expo

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California to promote his role in an upcoming film.

He will be voicing Maui, a character in Moana, which is a story about a spirited teenager who sails around the Pacific Ocean in a quest to find her ancestors. Johnson’s character is a demigod, who assists the protagonist, Moana, in her journey.

It will be Johnson’s first role in an animated film, which is scheduled for release on Nov. 23, 2016.

This is a very special opportunity for Johnson for many reasons. He told the live crowd that he had always wanted to be a part of the Disney family, and to have the opportunity to voice an animated character. In addition, the film is set in the South Pacific, which is home to the island of Samoa, where Johnson’s ancestors are from.

He is a part of the legendary Anoa’i family in the world of wrestling, and is related to several current and former WWE superstars, such as Roman Reigns, Naomi, The Usos, and Rikishi.

Johnson was most recently in a WWE ring at a Live Event in Boston, Massachusetts, where he made an unannounced appearance. He has also been teased to be showing up at the upcoming “SummerSlam” pay-per-view, as well as being heavily promoted on the WrestleMania 32 production trucks.
