Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California to promote his role in an upcoming film.
He will be voicing Maui, a character in Moana, which is a story about a spirited teenager who sails around the Pacific Ocean in a quest to find her ancestors. Johnson’s character is a demigod, who assists the protagonist, Moana, in her journey.
It will be Johnson’s first role in an animated film, which is scheduled for release on Nov. 23, 2016.
He is a part of the legendary Anoa’i family in the world of wrestling, and is related to several current and former WWE superstars, such as Roman Reigns, Naomi, The Usos, and Rikishi.
Johnson was most recently in a WWE ring at a Live Event in Boston, Massachusetts, where he made an unannounced appearance. He has also been teased to be showing up at the upcoming “SummerSlam” pay-per-view, as well as being heavily promoted on the WrestleMania 32 production trucks.
