RETRIBUTION Was Not Received Well Backstage At RAW

Swing and a miss? Last night on RAW, RETRIBUTION began to reveal themselves and several notable names were revealed to be a part of the group. But how was their presentation throughout the evening received backstage?

According to a tweet from Wrestlevotes, the angle did not go over well:

Just talked to a source who was in the building last night… said the presentation of Retribution was a major topic of discussion, met w/ LAUGHTER at times backstage. Direct quote: “The masks & names are already making the road for these guys impossible to climb”

NXT wrestlers Mia Yim, Mercedes Martinez, Dominik Dijakovic, Dio Maddin were all noted to be a part of the group, however, they were not called by those names. T-BAR, Mace & Slapjack were the names that were used by three of the competitors that competed in the main event of the show.

Honestly, I can’t blame people backstage for how the group revealed themselves to the world. And honestly, it’s not their fault; that’s what the creative team told them to do. While there are some fantastic names that are associated with the group, the presentation seemed forced and a bit childish to me at times. We’ll see where this goes, as I think there is some potential for them, but it wasn’t off to the best start.
