There’s one more. The AEW women’s division has come a long way in a fairly short amount of time. The early days of the division were not the best received with fans seemingly not thrilled with what they were seeing. Things have since gotten a good bit better over the last few months though, as the division has gotten stronger and now it might be improving even more.

One of the things that any new division needs is a veteran presence that the fans know from years past. You need a benchmark for the sake of comparison, as fans are not going to know how good these new wrestlers are. If you have them face or beat a wrestler they know, it offers a comparison and a way to see where the new wrestlers are. AEW is trying to do just that.

AEW has announced that Serena Deeb has been officially signed to the company. Deeb has wrestled around the world, including a run in WWE where she was part of the Straight Edge Society. She also appeared in the original Mae Young Classic, where she defeated Vanessa Borne before losing to Piper Niven. Deeb also wrestled on the September 2 edition of Dynamite where she was defeated by Thunder Rosa.

You might remember her. Check out what Deeb can do:

Opinion: This is the kind of signing that makes sense for AEW as the company can use veterans who can help bring up their new wrestlers while also being stars themselves. Deeb is someone familiar enough to the audience and she showed earlier this month that she can still go in the ring. I’m glad to see her get a job as she has not been on the big stage as often as she should have over her career.

What do you think of Deeb? What should she do in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
