In the first championship match at “SummerSlam” this evening, Charlotte defeated Sasha Banks to reclaim the WWE Women’s Championship. This is Charlotte’s second reign as champion.
The finish came when Charlotte reversed a Bank Statement into a roll up, and pinned “The Boss” to recapture the title.
Banks had been the champion since the July 25 episode of “Monday Night Raw,” in which she defeated Charlotte on the first episode following the WWE Draft on “Smackdown Live.” Prior to this, Charlotte had been the champion for over 300 days, including both the Divas Championship and the Women’s Champion.
Editor’s Note:
There are a lot of people who are upset about Charlotte dropping the title to Sasha. What people have to realize is that there is a lot more money in the chase of the title, as opposed to actually being champion. Social media immediately blew up, saying that Sasha Banks has been buried and that WWE has no faith in her. We must be patient. “The Boss” will have her moment and will get a lengthy title run. She is an amazing competitor, and deserves the opportunity to be the face of the women’s division. Her time will come. Big things are in store for Banks, I can promise you that.
