Nikki Bella Returns to In-Ring Competition at “SummerSlam”

Ever since it was reported that Eva Marie had been suspended for 30 days for her first violation of WWE’s wellness policy, one of the main questions would be if she would be replaced in the six-woman “Smackdown Live” tag team match at “SummerSlam.”

That question was “totally” answered right before the match began.

Nikki Bella made her surprise return to the company tonight, joining Natalya and Alexa Bliss to defeat Naomi, Carmella and Becky Lynch. The finish came when Bella used her new finisher, the TKO, on Carmella, to pick up the win.

Bella had been away from competition since undergoing neck surgery in January of this year. It had been previously rumored that Bella would replace Eva Marie, as she was medically cleared to wrestle earlier in the week. 

Eva Marie continued her gimmick of not performing, however, as her music and voiceover hit before the match began. The announcer said that she was feeling disrespected by the WWE fans, and would be taking a vacation to recover from stress.

This was the perfect replacement for Eva Marie. Nikki Bella actually looked pretty good in the ring for being away for 7 months, and I love the fact that she got rid of the rack attack. It’s good to have her back!
