It would seem that “The Roman Empire” is about to begin.
In the main event, McMahon was at ringside and did everything that he could to prevent Reigns from winning the title, including pulling the referee out of the ring while he was administering a three count. The League of Nations also attempted to interfere in the match, but Reigns was able to overcome all of them, and pin Sheamus after a spear, to become the new champion.
This marks Reigns’ second official reign as champion, with his first one lasting 5:15 after Sheamus cashed in his “Money In The Bank” contract at “Survivor Series” earlier this year.
Editor’s Note:
It would seem that WWE creative has finally found a way to get Reigns over as a believable and reputable champion. I’ve always said that he was a gifted athlete in the ring, but now his personality is finally starting to develop into something special, and he is becoming a more mature sports entertainer. This is a wonderful accomplishment for Reigns, and I am very happy for him!
