According to a report from CBS Sports, “Smackdown Live” commentator Mauro Ranallo will not appear on WWE television again for the remainder of his contract. His current deal is set to expire on August 12 of this year.
Ranallo has been open about his lifelong battles with depression and bipolar disorder as of late. Not only are they are causing him to struggle in his current announcing role in WWE, but it has also been reported that the onscreen rivalry between him and JBL is all too real. However, JBL denies those reports, and has wished Ranallo all the best in his recovery.
Ranallo was last seen on WWE programming on the March 7 episode of “Smackdown Live.” It was announced the following week that he was going to miss the show due to inclement weather in the Northeast.
He has removed any mention of being employed by WWE as well as anything regarding WrestleMania from his Twitter account.
Editor’s Note:
I figured this was the case, but even so, I’m sad to see this. Obviously, Ranallo’s health should always be his primary concern, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future career.
