Locker Room Is Split On CM Punk’s Return To WWE

Time will tell. CM Punk returned to WWE last night at Survivor Series 2023, appearing in the closing moments of the show. He returned after the conclusion of the men’s Wargames match. But how did the overall locker room react?

According to a report from Fightful, the locker room is divided on Punk returning to the company. The report claims that there are numerous talents on the roster who are generally upset, while there are others who are excited, curious, and about every other emotion possible. Furthermore, talent was pulled aside before the WarGames match and told that CM Punk would be returning at the conclusion of the show.

It had been previously reported that both Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre were visibly upset at the conclusion of the show, with Rollins even shouting expletives at Punk and having to be restrained.

I can’t say that I’m surprised by this. There is no doubt that he has had a very polarizing reputation within the professional, wrestling community, and the way that he left AEW certainly didn’t help his reputation. That being said, at the time of this article, his return has been viewed on WWE’s social media channels over 26 million times, so you can’t deny that this was an incredible move for business.
