It was previously reported that Jinder Mahal would be challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Championship on this week’s episode of “Smackdown Live.”

However, it looks like the “Modern Day Maharaja” might have to wait his turn.

According to the official preview for this week’s show, the match is off and Mahal will not get his opportunity at the title. He posted the following on Instagram, stating his disappointed with “The Phenomenal One:”

Styles faced the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar at “Survivor Series,” and was defeated by “The Beast.”

It is unknown when Mahal will get his guaranteed rematch, after losing the Championship to Styles on the recent “Smackdown Live” in Manchester, England.

Editor’s Opinion:

There must be a long-term reason for this. While the match between Styles and Lesnar at “Survivor Series” was amazing, I’m still of the opinion that Mahal should not have lost the WWE Championship. He had great momentum going, and would have been able to put a great match on with “The Beast.” That being said, I do believe that the “Modern Day Maharaja” will be champion again, and I can’t wait for that day!
